Mung bean is a warm season, annual legume. It is excellent for alleviating surface compaction and suppressing weeds in a cover system. Mung bean releases the Nitrogen that it fixated through decomposition making it a great option for green manure. It tolerates drought very well and requires little water. It can produce up to 3 tons/acre of dry matter, and has excellent palatability for forage. We recommend using mung beans as a cover crop or forage.
